This program is specifically designed for persons with a disability as defined by the ADA. We only train service dogs on a case by case basis as their training is so specialized. Service dogs learn tasks to accommodate their handler’s disability. Some of the tasks Ariel's Canine Connection has trained are deep pressure therapy, light pressure therapy, arrhythmia alerts, anxiety/ cortisol alerts, forward momentum pulling, brace, self harm interruption, crying interruption, dropped object retrieval, designated object retrieval, and more! Service Dogs must have a very specific temperament to participate in service work. Not all dogs can or should be service dogs and if starting from a puppy, there is no guarantee the dog will work out due to unexpected temperament shifts for maturity.
